Voltage nightclub moves to file lawsuit against singer Ayra Starr, Mavin Records over breach of contract

A Bayelsa State watering hole identified as Voltage nightclub is set to file a lawsuit against singer Ayra Starr and Mavin Records over alleged breach of contract.

This was made known in a public announcement made on Instagram by Voltage nightclub where it revealed that it paid Ayra Starr the sum of N3 million through Mavin Records to perform at Options Lounge’s first-anniversary party but was let down by both the singer and her crew.

Voltage nightclub also revealed in the announcement on IG that the event was canceled, and the club promised to communicate a new date for the get-together as soon as possible.

It added that it had consulted with its legal team and are taking all legal options against her and Mavin Records.

The announcement on IG reads thus in full; “This is to inform the general public that the planned 1st anniversary of Option Lounge which was billed to hold on 5th January 2022, and the after-party which was to hold at club voltage where Ayra Starr, a Mavin Records artist was to perform has been shifted forward to another date that will be communicated soon.

“This is due to the persistent disappointment and complete breach of contract for the second time from Ayra Starr and Mavin Records. We do not understand why Ayra Starr and Mavin Records, after agreeing on a fee which we paid in full, have consistently disregarded her fans here in Bayelsa. We have consulted our legal team and we are taking all legal mercenaries against her and Mavin Records.

“As a business, we hold our esteemed customers very high and we cannot disappoint them for the second time; hence the need for this publication. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience that this may have caused you for the second time. Please accept our apologies,” it concluded.
