Veteran Nollywood actress, Sola Onayiga has been announced dead after reportedly spending two weeks at the ICU section of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital.
Sola who played the role of Ireti in Kunle Bantefa’s popular soap, Fuji House of Commotion, was said to have died on Monday as announced by Husseini Shaibu, a well-known cinema critic and expert.

Sharing the news of her death on his Twitter page, Shaibu stated, “Just learned that Auntie Sola Awojobi Onayiga, a distinguished stage and screen actress and Fellow of Theatre Arts, passed away today.
“Auntie Sola is most known for playing the adorably entertaining character of Ireti, also known as the Cooking Practicals, in the canceled TV sitcom “CHECKMATE”! Travel safely, Ma!
