Spotify’s Manager for artiste partnership for West Africa, Victor Okpala has called on stakeholders and the Nigerian government to provide an enabling environment for the local music industry to harness Afrobeat’s international growth.
Victor who made the call In a TED X talk delivered at the University of Leeds also demanded that there is need to grow the local ecosystem if the country plans to properly exploit the rising potential of Afrobeat’s commercial appeal.

He also stated that ecosystem in Nigeria lacks the infrastructure to take live musical experiences to the different states in the manner that Afrobeat is being exported to different parts of the world.
