Savvy music executive turned politician, Bankole Wellington popularly known in music circles as Banky W has declared that Service to community should not be dependent on being in government.

The politician who contested for the House of Representatives election in Eti-Osa federal constituency of Lagos State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but lost the Labour Party (LP) candidate, made the remarks in a post on his official Twitter page.

According to Banky W, if service to community should not be dependent on being in government then one does not deserve a seat in the first instance.

“If our service to the community was only dependent on whether we got a seat in the government, then we don’t deserve a seat in the first place.” He wrote on Instagram.
