The second intense new trailer for The Batman featuring Robert Pattinson made its debut on Saturday, closing out an epic afternoon at the DC FanDome virtual convention in the USA.
The new trailer showcased a number of key moments and intriguing plot threads regarding the film, which will bring to life Matt Reeves’ take on the DC Comics mythos of Gotham City.
The Batman sees R‑Patz as Bruce Wayne in the midst of his second year of crime-fighting, with writer and director Matt Reeves telling EW of the plot: “I felt that we’ve seen lots of origin stories. It seems things go further and further into fantasy, and I thought, ‘Well, one place we haven’t been is grounding it in the way that Year One does, to come right in to a young Batman, not being an origin tale, but referring to his origins and shaking him to his core.’

“You can have it be very practical, but I also thought it could be the most emotional Batman movie ever made.”
“There was just something very special and magical about the way [Pattinson and Kravitz] played off of each other right from the beginning,” Reeves said during the film’s DC FanDome panel. “And so I just knew right away I was thinking, ‘Well, there’s just a really neat look.’ I know you guys are friends. And so there was a great chemistry right from the beginning that I felt like there was a connection which you naturally had. And I feel like when we were filming, obviously that came out more and more.”
