The special guest of honor at ‘Kikida’ 2:0 Gospel Concert on Sunday, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu has commended Shade Oshoba over the successful hosting of ‘Kikida 2:0 Gospel Concert held at The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Rose of Sharon parish in Lagos.
Sanwo-Olu’s Wife was represented at the program by the wife of executive chairman of Ojodu local council development area, Taiwo Odumbaku.
Dr. Ibironke Sanwo-Olu in her speech as read by the representative said, she commended the originator of the concept of bringing hope to peoples’ inspiration through gospel music, this to me shows ingenuity on the part of organizer who seeks to address some societal issues using the power of soul lifting songs.
“I commend her passion for the restoration of hope through soul lifting songs. As a medical practitioner, I can attest to the potency of soul lifting music not only restoring hope but also in the process of recuperation of the sick”.
According the Sanwo-Olu’s Wife, music touches our emotions, spirit and provides relief during very difficult periods, melody could be soul lifting, reminding us, we are not alone during our struggles, it has the unique ability to inspire, motivate and bring people together, fostering a sense of unity and hope.
The convener of the event, Shade Oshoba stated, ‘Kikida’ is all about absolute praise to God. Life is full of challenges and one of the ways to put these challenges behind us and move forward is through music and absolute praise to God who had helped in the past and still has the ability to help again”.
She said she actually got inspiration in one of her dreams and became restless until the first edition of Kikida was released to celebrate her 40th birthday and 20 years as a professional music minister. “Kikida came to me in a trace. I have been praying and longing to have a concert like all other artists do but inspirations refused to come and I approached my 40th birthday last year, I received the word, “Kikida Ope” meaning, bountiful praise. At one point I didn’t know how to go about it but when I shared this with my husband, he caught fire and immediately we set it all out and God helped us. And while thinking of what can be done to differentiate Kikida from other existing concerts, we were led to add empowerment. We scout for young and creative entrepreneurs online and around different communities who are struggling to break forth in their business endeavors and enlist them for the Kikida empowerment Scheme. Indeed, God has remained faithful on every side.
Mrs. Oshoba further stated, “It gladdens my heart to see thousands of worshippers praising God and celebrating the fact that they are alive today. The economy may not be friendly but as believers, we have this understanding that when we praise God, the Lord of heaven will intervene in our situation and come to our rescue to heal our land. That is the spirit of Kikida.
Passionate about ministering soul-lifting songs and restoration of hope, Shade Oshoba did not disappoint her audience as her performance electrified the atmosphere with her opening Apala gospel music with a fusion of Afro-beat, appealing to both the old and young generation. This got everyone dancing and celebrating. Her praise session also speaks volume that she is professional music art par excellence.
