Stand-up comedian Damilola Adekoya, also known as Princess has opened up to the special offences courts unit of the Lagos state high court about her relationship with embattled Yoruba actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, also known as Baba Ijesha.
Princess told the court at the beginning of the hearing of Baba Ijesha who is currently standing trial for the alleged sexual assault of her (Princess’) foster daughter that she met him in 2008 at an event and the two of them decided to start making comedy skits together.
The comedian told the court that Baba Ijesha during the course of working together, tried to date her but she declined. She said after the crash of her marriage in 2013, she became close to Baba Ijesha, sponsoring his education and granting him favours.
Meanwhile, Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the the special offences courts unit of the Lagos state high court ruled on Monday that the trial of Baba Ijesha who is being charged on a six-count charge which includes sexual assault by penetration, indecent treatment of a child, and sexual assault will continue today.
Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo adjourned the matter after counsel for Damilola Adekoya, also known as Princess, submitted primary evidence against the troubled Yoruba actor.
