So, I was reading very quietly the banter on the group chat. Nobody ever talks to me except it’s about school fees, allowance or that kind thing.
The interesting gist and engagement is usually among them.
So this day, it was an American trip. Ohh you will stay with me in Atlanta-Etekamba quipped. Then I’ll take you down to Savanah so you can see some of my works displayed.
Chantal says fly through UK and stay 3-days and then we will all now go to America and stay in Aunty Bomi’s house.
In all of that talk, nothing is planned for me. The only time my name gets mentioned was Chantal the ever mischievous one wanting to find out if the trip will affect my ability to pay her fees which should be due at the time.
My mind went straight to my father and the mistake of him not marrying a younger wife. My mother had left emotionally, they always do.
They link up with their children and start another new life afresh. They pretend to be doing ‘Omugwo’ and from there they never come back.
Daddy will be left alone to his devices while the mother will be galivanting all over the world enjoying the ‘fruits of her labour’.

Pa M. was my father in law and he suffered the same fate. I used to watch him struggle at over 80 to make a lonely cup of tea. Mummy was in Australia on her way to India to take care of her grandchildren. Daddy was in Bariga struggling with gas cooker.
Mbok, me I will not wait for that one o. As they are building new life, me sef will build new life.
I will not remain alone and be taken care off by a young nurse. I will do something o.
The attraction of a younger wife is strong and biblical. Someone who will make your later years worthwhile.
Someone who will make your bed, love you and give you companionship. Someone who will help in the research as you look for remedies for your erectile dysfunction.
The young wife is indeed a very strong proposition for men. Our fathers who were bold enough did it and had fulfilment.
Give this a very strong consideration as you leave your mid 50s and approach 60, you will thank me later.
