The National Official Selection Committee (NOSC) Nigeria’s official selection committee for the Academy of Motion Picture, Arts and Sciences, known as the Oscars has announced no submission for Oscar 2023 as Nigerian films fail eligibility criteria.

This was made known in a Chineze Anyaene-Abonyi, NOSC chairperson who said that three non-English language titles reportedly emerged finalists but failed to satisfactorily meet the IFF eligibility criteria.

Chineze added that she regrets the failure of the 15-member NOSC committee to in find an eligible submission after it failed to reach a consensus on the three contending titles due to their voting patterns.
