Former beauty queen and Nollywood actress, Munachi Abii, has reacted after being shamed on social media for her inability to speak Igbo language fluently.

Munachi who was a guest on BBC News Igbo on Friday talked about her childhood, family and career but in a seemingly poor manner owing to the fact that she kept mixing Igbo with English language all through the interview.

This led people into making fun of her for her inability to speak Igbo without combining it with English language.

Reacting to this, the actress took to her Instastory to say that people should commend her instead for her ability to speak Igbo at all as she visibly tried to speak to the best of her ability.

“I can never understand why people shame people who are visibly trying to speak their language to the best of their ability.”

“At least I can speak something. The people that are shaming sef can’t speak any language properly and look like oiled sorrow,” she added.
