Nigerian rapper and singer Modupe-Oreoluwa Oyeyemi Ola, popularly known by her stage name Mo’Cheddah has taken to social media to react to the outrage over the emergence of murder suspect Chidinma Ojukwu as ‘Miss Cell’.

Recall that Chidinma Ojukwu, the prime suspect in the murder case of late businessman and Super TV boss, Usifo Ataga, was crowned Miss Cell 2022 in Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

The emergence of Chidinma Ojukwu as ‘Miss Cell’ 2022 was made known in a statement by the National Spokesperson, Nigeria Correctional Service, Francis Enobore.

According to Enebore, the organisation of the beauty pageant is part of the services of the correctional facility to ensure that inmates are in ‘sound and good spirit.’

The emergence of Chidinma Ojukwu as ‘Miss Cell’ 2022 has not gone down well with many who berated officials of the Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allowing murder suspect Chidinma Ojukwu to participate in the beauty contest.

However, Mo’Cheddah has spoken out in defense of the beauty pageantry staged at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre which witnessed the emergence of Chidinma Ojukwu as ‘Miss Cell 2022’.

The rapper in a post on her Instagram page said that she isn’t defending crime but simply stating the facts of what happens in prisons.

According to her, social activities like pageants are held and workers even earn wages while in there.
