Veteran Nollywood actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo has taken to social media to bemoan the rate of negligence among Nigerians parents towards raising their children.

The actor said that the parents of today are behaving irresponsibly by choosing not to inquire about the source of their children’s money so long as they bring it home to take care of them.

According to him, such lack of adequate action is pushing their daughters into prostitution and their sons into a life of crime.

Kanayo while sharing a short video clip from a live broadcast on his Instagram page noted that values have been lost and this emanates from the homes and have nothing to do with Nollywood.

“Girls go the extent of sleeping with countless men just to take care of their parents at home. If your child who’s in school comes home with a phone of five hundred thousand to one million naira, won’t you ask questions?”

Captioning the video, he wrote, “Many parents have become irresponsible. They no longer ask questions. No matter how the money is made, bring it.

“They are pushing their daughters into prostitution of all sorts and sons into crimes and criminalities.’’
