The Malawi Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Wildlife has banned South African dancer, Rebecca Libram from performing in a show scheduled to hold in the country on June 11.

The dancer popularly known as Zodwa Wabantu is notorious for performing on stage half naked and without underwear most of the time.

The country’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and Wildlife, Michael Usi, on Friday confirmed that his ministry has told organisers not to go ahead with the show, saying the event is not fit for Malawi.

However, one of the organisers of the event Biggie Lu said Zodwa was not expected to perform pant-less at Dominic’s in Blantyre, scheduled venue of the event.

Recall that one of Zodwa’s 2017 shows in Zimbabwe was cancelled after she reportedly refused to perform while wearing underwear.

She was also banned in Zambia in 2018, with authorities arguing that her public performances undermine the country’s “national values”.
