American pop star Madonna has been discharged from hospital after suffering a serious bacteria infection which landed her in the Intensive Care Unit of a New York Hospital.

Recall that the 64-year-old musician was found unresponsive on Saturday June 24 and was immediately rushed to an NYC hospital where she was intubated and placed in the Intensive Care Unit.

Madonna’s longtime manager, Guy Oseary, explained in a post on Instagram moments later that the multiple Grammy award-winner “developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several day stay in the ICU,” but she’s expected to recover.

The outcome of the singer’s diagnosis has forced her management team to hold a crisis meeting on Zoom last Sunday, June 25, amid fears that she might not have survived the bacterial infection after she was rushed to the hospital.

However, Madonna has now been discharged from the New York hospital and is home and feeling better after an intensive care stay to the delight of her worried fans.

Her manager Guy Oseary had said in a statement on Thursday that Madonna is expected to make a full recovery, forcing her to delay her 84-date “Celebrations” tour due to start on July 15.

Details of whether the tour will still go ahead are yet to be announced, with Oseary saying: “At this time we need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.

“We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.” Madonna’s manager added.
