Popular Nollywood actor Kenneth Okonkwo has taken to his social media account to react after the Supreme Court dismissed Peter Obi’s petition and upheld Bola Tinubu’s election victory.

Recall that the apex court in its ruling delivered this morning October 26 stated that Obi’s seven-point petition lacked merit. The apex court said it cannot allow the matter of double nomination to be relitigated, having issued a judgement on it.

Peter Obi in his petition had alleged that Vice-President Kashim Shettima was guilty of double nomination, and as such, was not qualified to serve as running mate to President Bola Tinubu.

While reacting to the court ruling, Kenneth Okonkwo said that it is odd that the Supreme Court ignored the appellants’ $460,000.00 penalties for drug trafficking and money laundering.

The actor wrote, “The Supreme Court dismissed the petition of Peter Obi as lacking in merit, thereby affirming the judgement of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC). It’s strange that the Supreme Court did not say anything whatsoever about the issue of the Forfeiture of $460,000.00 as fine for narcotics trafficking and money laundering brought to the Court by the Appellants.

“It’s well. In God we trust.” He added.

In another post, Okonkwo wrote; The Supreme Court delivered judgment today. It started with Atiku’s petition. The Supreme Court dismissed the application by Atiku to admit the evidence of the “forged” certificate presented to INEC by the 2nd Respondent (Tinubu) on the ground that it was not pleaded in the petition at the lower court and the 180 days within which the lower court can try this petition has elapsed thereby robbing the lower court and the Supreme Court the jurisdiction to hear the matter.”
