Popular American R&B singer John Legend has revealed why his friendship with Kanye West ended.
John Legend who opened up during a podcast said that Kanye West’s vocal support for Donald Trump, and his subsequent run for office in 2020, drove a wedge in their friendship.
“We aren’t friends as much as we used to be,” Legend said during an appearance on The Axe Files podcast with CNN’s David Axelrod. “I honestly think because we publicly disagreed on his running for office, he’s supporting Trump. I think it became too much for us to sustain our friendship.”

John Legend also added that their friendship became more sour after he refused to support Kanye West’s run for presidency in 2020 thus ending their decade-long friendly relationship.
“He was upset that I didn’t support his run for presidency of the United States of America — for understandable reasons,” Legend explained. “I wasn’t alone in that, but, you know, he was not happy about that. And we really haven’t been close since then.”
