Frontline Nigerian actor, Prince Jide Kosoko has urged the Member of the House of Representatives representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Lagos, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke to make himself available for national assignment in the incoming administration of the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Prince Kosoko, who made the call while fielding questions from journalists in his Ikorodu, Lagos home on Friday, hinged the call on what he called the track record of Faleke, who is the Secretary of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council and his personal knowledge and experience with the lawmaker.

Kosoko, who also called on the President-elect, Tinubu to look the way of Faleke as his Chief of Staff, said Faleke’s experience in public service, professionalism and commitment, will be of great service to the incoming President, the Presidency and the nation at large.

“Honourable James Abiodun Faleke will no doubt be an asset to the President-elect, the Presidency under his watch and the nation at large.

“As Secretary of the Tinubu-Shettima presidential campaign, Faleke was the soul of the organisation, directly overseeing the campaign council in its day to day activities, coordinating thousands of eminent personalities that made up the PCC and managing the many programmes of the campaign all over the country and beyond.

“As the engine room of the Tinubu-Shettima campaign, Honourable Faleke unique talents and abilities came to the fore, as his unusual down to earth nature, open door policy, accessibility and  destabilised disposition ensured that the campaign ran seamlessly, ranking the Tinubu-Shettima PCC as the most organised and most effective throughout the campaign season.”

Speaking on why Honourable Faleke is perhaps the most qualified among the array of eminent options President-elect Tinubu may have as Chief of Staff, Prince Kosoko said the lawmaker’s culture of working silently without attracting attention to himself stands him out.

“Some of the notable attributes of an effective Chief of Staff is the ability to work in the background, without attracting undue attention, staying out of unnecessary controversies and ensuring that the Presidency works effectively without hindrance. These traits and qualities have been displayed over the years by Hon Faleke, putting him way ahead of other options opened to Asiwaju Tinubu.”

Prince Kosoko also scored Faleke high on the experience scale, concluding that the lawmaker has the requisite experience to operate as Tinubu’s Chief of Staff.

“If we are also to look at experience, both in the corporate world and in public service, Hon Faleke stands out, having worked as a management staff of several large scale companies before entering into politics as a local government chairman in Lagos  State, led the Conference 57, the umbrella body of local government/local council development areas chairmen in Lagos. He has also won elections into the House of Representatives on four different occasions, the latest being the February 25, 2023 National Assembly elections.

“As a member of the green chambers of the National Assembly, Hon Faleke Chairs the House Committee on Finance, a committee that is central to the workings of both the legislature and the federal government.”

Prince Kosoko, who served as the Secretary of the Creative Arts Directorate of the Tinubu/Shettima PCC, said despite the obvious qualification of Hon Faleke as Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, the lawmaker’s love for his current role at the national assembly seems overriding, making it important for all men or goodwill to join in the clamour for him to hearken the call for a higher responsibility and service to the nation.

“There is no doubt that Hon Faleke enjoys lawmaking but then, he has an opportunity to serve Nigeria in another capacity that is more central in making government work for Nigerians and help stabilise the Tinubu Presidency, a presidency Nigerians look forward to with renewed hope. It is my belief and that of many others that with Faleke as Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Nigerians are in for a new and better deal”, Prince Kosoko submitted.
