Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx has taken to social media to tender an apology to the Jewish community over his controversial Instagram post about ‘fake friends and Jesus’.

Recall that the popular thespian had in a cryptic post shared Friday, August 4, on social media slammed ‘fake friends’ and ‘fake love ,’ when he wrote thus on IG: ‘They killed this dude named Jesus… what do you think they’ll do to you?’

Jamie Foxx’s post on the social media platform elicited tons of criticism and was interpreted by some as being antisemitic, with The Times of Israel stating that Foxx’s post can be seen to reference the ‘Jewish deicide’, a belief that ‘Jews are collectively responsible for the killing of Jesus Christ as it were.’ 

The actor has now been forced to apologise to the Jewish community and everyone who was offended by his post. He said he now knows ‘‘my choice of words have caused offense and I’m sorry. That was never my intent”.
