Popular Ghanaian rapper Charles Nii Armah Mensah, better known in music circles as Shatta Wale is now cooling his heels in police custody following his alleged gunshot attack.
Recall that in a post shared on Snapchat on Monday, the rapper’s Personal Assistant, Nana Dope, announced the incident and called on Ghanaians to keep Shatta Wale in their prayers.
He also said that videos of the singer in a pool of blood shouldn’t be circulated on social media.
In the post on Snapchat, Nana claimed he was attacked and shot by unknown assailants, a report the police later said was a hoax.

However, the Ghana Police Service in a statement issued on Tuesday, October 19, said that the singer turned himself in after they declared him wanted, for his; “involvement in the creation and circulation of information intended to cause fear and panic.”
According to the police, “After we publicly declared him and one other person wanted, the suspect, Shatta Wale, turned himself in today Tuesday October 19, 2021, at 8.59pm.
He has been arrested to assist the Police in investigations for his alleged involvement in the creation and circulation of information intended to cause fear and panic.”
