Ex-UFC champ Cain Valasquez arrested without bail on attempted murder charge

The long arm of the law has caught up with a former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez, after a shooting in California took place, with the San Jose Police currently investigating his involvement in the incident.

The Mexican-American fighter has been arrested on an attempted murder charge by the San Jose Police who are investigating a shooting incident near Monterey Highway and Bailey Avenue in Morgan Hill which saw a victim taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

A statement from San Jose police read: “Cain Velasquez was the suspect arrested yesterday in connection with this incident. He was booked into Santa Clara County main jail for attempted murder.

“The motive and circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation at this time.”

The 39-year-old is currently being held in custody without bail according to online records at the County of Santa Clara Department of Corrections facility.
