Dr. Dre working on deal to sell his music catalog for over $200 million

Talented American rapper cum music producer Andre Young popularly known in music circles as Dr Dre is working on a deal to sell his music catalog for over $200 million.

The 57-year-old Aftermath Entertainment founder is reportedly selling his music assets in two separate deals – one with Universal Music Group and the other with Shamrock Holdings.

Dr Dre is reportedly selling his music assets and several income streams in separate deals with reports further revealing that his assets would be sold for over $200 million, while sources say that his assets generate about $10 million annually.

The music mogul is reportedly in the closing stages of a deal with Shamrock Holdings and Universal Music Group and the package of material that he is selling includes; N.W.A. shares, two of his solo albums, and writing and production royalties from select past projects.

The package also includes a pair of his solo records; producer’s royalties; and proceeds from his writing royalties on the material in which he doesn’t have publishing rights (which could include tracks from 1993’s The Chronic).
