Amid the controversy surrounding the death of gospel artist, Osinachi Nwachukwu who reportedly died of domestic violence, daughter of former Delta State governor, Orode Uduaghan has said the culture of oppression disguised as Christianity is not of God.

Orode said this while calling out a popular social media pastor known as Newton who said gospel singer, Sister Osinachi Nwachukwu, suffered and died in the Lord.

According to Pastor Newton, perhaps Osinachi stayed in the abusive marriage because God asked her to do so.

“Away from the criticism surrounding her death, whether she should have left the marriage or not, we don’t know what God told her.

“Whether God told her to remain in the marriage or not will be revealed in eternity… Someone would say, ‘God cannot say that, ‘ really? Well-done Jehovah’s classmate.

“Brethren, that was her own cup of suffering. For everyone would have his own portion of suffering for the sake of Christ.

“If you dodge your own cup of sufferings you may not receive your own well done reward.” Pastor Newman wrote.

Reacting to the cleric’s post, Orode said that domestic violence is not what the Bible means by long suffering.

“This is a problem, a real problem! This culture of oppression disguised as Christianity is not of God. Stop it! Stop it!,” she said.

“Her own cup of suffering was to be beaten not for Christ but from a man’s ego or whatever his excuse was. Stop it!

“So you think God is happy she died in a domestic violence situation? He mourns and weeps for her. He is heartbroken. There is nowhere WELL DONE reward here. Only a heartbroken father has to receive his child home before her time.” Orode added.
