Popular Afrobeat singer, Damini Ogulu better known as Burna Boy has said he wants the truth of African history before slavery to be taught in schools instead of the Western culture.

The singer lamented that Africans don’t teach the younger generation anything about themselves but about the colonial masters and the Queen of England.

In his words, “They tell us about stuff that has no significance to us. And that puts in our head that we have no power and that we’re inferior to the colonial masters.

“I want the truth of our history before slavery and before the white man came to be the real history that’s told.

‘’This is not how it always was. Some people came here and lied to you and took the crown off your head and told you you’re a slave when really they came here and met you as a king,'” he said.
