Former female housemate of the Big Brother Naija (BBN) reality TV show Francis Princess Uju popularly known as Princess has shared her healing journey after having an open scar.
The reality TV star who shared her experience during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo said that she got the scare on her face after an accident in 2019.
She revealed that she sustained injuries on her face after being involved in a car accident on her way to the airport in Abuja and since then, loving herself with the scar has been difficult.
Princess went on to state that before the accident, she got a lot of compliments from people but after the accident which affected her face, she said that she started struggling with low self-esteem.

She said: “In 2019, I had an accident on my way to the airport. That was how I got this scar on my face. I was on my way to the airport because I had a job here in Lagos, and close to the airport in Abuja, I had an accident, and my life changed because I didn’t know how I would live with a scar on my face. You know when you grow up and all your life you’ve been that beautiful girl; I’ve been beautiful since I was 5.”
‘‘Shortly after the car incident there was COVID-19 lockdown and she could not escape seeing her reflection everyday in the mirror. She stated that the scar contributed to her backing away from the limelight since she had always attributed her beauty to her facial features alone, Princess stated that she had no choice but to look within and accept that the scar would always be there and she would just have to love herself.
“Then there was a lockdown, so I had all of COVID-19 to wake up every day and see a scar on my face. Put on the camera to shoot a video and then there’s a scar under my lip. It really did take me away from the cameras. I actually feel that is part of why I gave up,” Princess added.
