Elsie Okpocha, the estranged ex-wife of talented comedian Bright Okpocha popularly known as Basketmouth has taken to social media to issue a memo to people about marriage-shaming women.
In a video post on her official Instagram page, Elsie who called on Nigerians to desist from marriage-shaming women, said that if a woman is not married, it is because she is probably taking her time or she has not met the right person.

According to her, as beautiful as marriage is, it is hard work and if a woman decides that she is not ready yet, she should be left alone until she finds the right person.
”You need to understand that if a woman is not married, it’s because she is probably taking her time or she hasn’t met the right person because you do not want to rush into this institution called marriage in the name of wanting to get married on time and end up rushing out because marriage can be touch. As beautiful as it is, it is hard work. If a woman decides that she is not ready yet, you need to let her be. Stop with the derogatory remarks,” Elsie Okpocha said.
