The hot new single by Nigerian singer Ayo Balogun aka Wizkid featuring singer Tems titled ‘Essence’ has become the first African song to crack the US Top 50 on Apple Music.
The development was announced on June 6, 2021, after the song which is off Wizkid’s groundbreaking album, ‘Made In Lagos’ reached a new peak of No. 30 during the weekend.
The feat makes ‘Essence’ the first African song to make it to US Apple Music Top 30.

This was made known in a recent social media post on Twitter made by African Facts Zone and the post reads;
“Wizkid’s Essence ft. Tems is now #30 on US Apple Music and #56 on US iTunes. Made In Lagos is #22 on US Apple Music Top Albums and #37 on US iTunes. ‘Essence’ is the first African song to make it to the Top 30, Top 40, Top 50 and Top 100 of the US Apple Music Top Albums Chart.”
