Martins Otse Vincent popularly known as Very Dark Man has been detained by the Nigeria Police Force over his alleged impersonation in a viral video that he shared online.

His arrest was made known in a post shared by his friend identified as Kokopee who disclosed that VDM is cooling his heels in police custody and may be likely arraigned in court today.

In the video shared on Thursday evening, October 31, Kokopee said that the police took VDM to his house to search for the uniform they claimed he used to impersonate the police officers.

‘’The Nigeria Police has refused to allow VeryDarkMan go home today. After the investigation yesterday, he went back there today to clear his name. The police took him to his house to search for the uniform they claimed he used to impersonate the police officers. After clearing out all their doubts, they refused to let him go.

“Is this how they choose to pay someone that is trying to help the police build their image? VDM is the one making us believe the police is our friend but it is obvious the police is nobodies friend. VDM is going to be spending the night in police custody with the view that tomorrow they are charging him to court.”

His detention comes after honouring an earlier invitation by the police where he tendered a public apology, claiming he was not aware of the protocol involved in getting a police permission to wear their uniforms.

In the apology he posted on his social media handles on Thursday, VDM advised the public to seek permission before using police or any law enforcement uniforms, as some might use them for good, while others might exploit them for nefarious purposes.
