Digital journalist Michael Abimboye has reacted to the recent disqualification of singer Portable by Headies Awards organisers.
Organisers of the award had withdrawn his nomination amid ongoing investigation by the Nigerian police force over his statement claiming he founded the One million boys cult group.
Reacting, Abimboye opined that organisers should stick to judging nominees by their talents and not their characters or words.

He questioned why they could not wait for the outcome of the police investigation before taking such an ‘unfair’ decision.
“Headies no be Hisbah. It should stick to judging talent and not character, actions and words. Why not wait for the outcome of the police investigation? What if he’s clean and was just jam-talking? I think it’s unfair what is done to Portable. #Portable #Headies,” he wrote on Wednesday via his Twitter handle.
