During the induction ceremony, Ajibola opened up on how he convinces employees to take an optional training course, the challenges facing the HR industry and three requirements professionals should consider before bagging global certifications in this interview with Naija Blog Gist (NBG). How do you convince employees to take an optional training course?

Our training’s are not designed for employees only, they are designed for any individual who wants to accelerate career growth and progression with a focus on global and local relevance.The world is currently a global village and relevance should be cross country. So given that people yearn for this positioning, it’s easy to convince them that taking a global certification is the way to go.

In what way do you evaluate training and program effectiveness?

Since our goal is global relevance, we measure effectiveness of our training in three ways. Mental shift and behavioral change, better workplace results and Passing the Global Certification

How often have you implemented changes to a training program and what were the results?

Since it’s not our internal exams, we only constantly work to reinvent our training methods but the global standards remain the same, we only update if the exam requirements change.

What metrics would you use to measure the success of a training initiative?

When students pass their exam.

List the certifications you offer? 

We offer certifications such as: Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Entry Certification in Business Analysis (ECBA), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP),  Associate Professional in Human Resource International (aPHRi), -in Human Resource International (PHRi), Senior Professional in Human Resource International (SPHRi), Global Professional in Human Resource (GPHR),  Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM CP) and Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM SCP).

Why should anyone take HR certifications and who needs it? 

Every Certification is a soft skill needed by any Professional. Therefore anybody can take a HR Certification ranging from people with no work experience to people that have as high as 10-years work experience.

Are there specific seasons in the year that you can take these exams?

The exams can be taken at any time except for SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) exams that have only two windows to write exams in a year. However, there is a designated time best to take the exam which is a period close to the end of your training.

What if a novice wants to take these exams, what are the requirements?

The major requirements to consider where global certifications are concerned are: Competency, that the person is trying to build or attain, Years of work experience as required by the international body, Financial readiness and time availability.

Are the exams Global and where can they be taken?

Yes, at Certification Edge, we only train professionals getting on global certifications. They can either be taken from the comfort of your home or at test centers depending on the certification and location.
