More knowledge seeking Nigerians have continued to gain significance in the global space through acquiring global certifications as Ajibola Bamidele’s Certification Edge, the No 1 global Human Resource training institute in Nigeria, inducted no fewer than 50 HR professionals.
The newly certified professionals in HRCI (Human Resource Certification Institute) USA, and SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) also in the USA, were celebrated at a well attended event staged at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja.
The bespoke occasion with the theme: “The Leading Leader” featured keynote speakers are: Olusegun Mojeed, the President & Chairman of Governing Council, CIPM, Nigeria Pai Gamde, Chief Talent Officer, Coronation Group and the convener of the event; Ajibola Bamidele, Managing Director, Certification Edge.
Speaking after the induction ceremony, Ajibola Bamidele opened up on the major takeaways from the event which had paper presentations delivered by Amarachi Omeje, Olusegun Mojeed, Rachel Adaramola and Pai Gamde.

He said; ‘‘The major takeaway from the induction ceremony is that HR leaders should begin to take the lead and not sit back. HR professionals should begin to think like CEOs who drive business instead of support the business.
‘‘HR professionals should start seeing themselves as business drivers and begin to have that thought that if the business fails it is because they failed. Why? Because they hire and manage the people and they also set the KPIs.
Bamidele also shared his thoughts on what he thinks are the challenges being faced by present day HR professionals.
‘‘The major challenge being faced by present day HR professionals is the fact that we do not take the drivers seat. There are also a lot of skill gaps that need to be filled in the profession and that is what this induction ceremony is all about. The aim is to bridge the skill gap,’’ he noted.
