Popular Nigerian skit maker, Mr Macaroni, has apologized and deleted a skit he made about nurses after being called out by a Twitter user who described the skit as ‘uncultured’.

The said skit which met so much criticism portrays nurses and doctors dressed in seductive wears to attend to a sick patient.

The user identified himself as Osagie M, the CEO of Nurses Network on Sunday accused the comedian of portraying nurses as s3x objects in his latest skit warning that it is uncalled for and shouldn’t be taken as a light joke.

He however warned that he should take down the video and do the needful.

“The nursing community’s attention has been drawn to your recent videos promoting nurses as s3xual objects. It’s funny until health care professionals start trending as ‘s3xual objects’, raunchy and uncultured,” he wrote.

“Obviously your comedy centers around playing with the mind of viewers by using sexually provocative images of endowed women. Though you pass some messages to those in power which you can call your own “sauce”.

“This is uncalled for and shouldn’t be taken as a light joke. The media misrepresentation of healthcare professionals (specifically nurses is an eyesore) and long-lasting solutions should be preferred including every nurse!

“We have worked hard over the years to give nurses a positive public image. It is very disappointing that a man of your Status will wake up to make a video to further promote the negativity that nurses are s3xual objects.

“The Nursing Community needs a Public apology and we demand your Video about Nurses be taken down. You have been to different countries in the world @mrmacaronii

“Where have you seen nurses dressed that way as you promoted on your video? This is unacceptable to nurses. Takedown the video and do the needful.

Reacting to the comment in a Twitter post on Sunday, Mr. Macaroni said the skit was not meant to degrade nurses.

“Let me use this opportunity to address those always pushing the narrative that most of my content is with women,” he wrote.

“First thing you should know is; that won’t stop! I play other characters. Serial philanderer series, in-law series professor hard life series, politician series, Debo series, social issues series.

“These are all different series and contents that portray our reality. So don’t think for a second that I will stop featuring freaky-freaky because of you.

“Also, Mr. Macaroni will not stop portraying real-life situations in his content. All of Mr. Macaroni’s contents are also open to constructive criticism. We won’t always agree on everything. But we can always do better,” he wrote.
