Popular Nigerian singer, actor, entrepreneur and politician, Bankole Wellington aka Banky W, has urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to make the mandatory NYSC optional.
The R&B crooner who made the appeal during an interview with Channels TV said that the NYSC programme should be made optional because many Nigerian youths do not need it.

According to him, they just go there because it’s mandatory and those who don’t go bribe officials to sign their documents.
Bank W also opined that it is better to make it optional for people who are interested in it in order to save government resources that can be used for other developments in society.
