Popular Aphrodisiac seller, Jaruma has been remanded in prison over her social media post about Regina Daniel’s husband, Ned Nwoko, after claiming that her products are responsible for his marriage crash with his estranged Moroccan wife Laila Charani.

Ned Nwoko had petitioned the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Commissioner of Police, seeking the arrest and prosecution of Hauwa Sa’idu Mohammed, also known as Jaruma.

In the petition, Ned Nwoko acussed Jaruma of publishing falsehoods on her Instagram page against him and his wife, Regina Daniels.

Ned Nwoko wants Jaruma prosecuted for allegedly defaming and libeling him and his family through peddling false allegations, claims, and hate speech.

Recall that trouble began after Jaruma hit back at Ned Nwoko for referring to her in an official statement in December announcing the end of his marriage to his Moroccan wife, Laila Charani.

At the time, Ned Nwoko denied rumours that their separation resulted from the use of a local aphrodisiac called ‘Kayamata’ sold by Jaruma.

Ned said that his marriage to his Moroccan wife, which produced three children, ended due to “irreconcilable differences rooted in indecent conduct on the latter’s part which started while she was on holiday in London.”

This led to her arraignment before an Abuja Upper Area Court on charges centering on defamation of character, false news publication and intimidation.

Police Prosecutor, E. A Inegbenoise, while speaking to  the court said that Nwoko had on January 20th reported the matter through a written petition from his lawyer to the FCT Police Command for proper investigation.

However, Jaruma’s  lawyer, Mr James Odibe made an oral bail application, urging the court to grant the defendant bail on self-recognition or in the alternative, in the most liberal terms but Inegbenoise pleaded with the court to allow Jaruma to remain in police custody pending investigation.

Justice Ismailia Abdullahi who presided over the case  ordered that the defendant be remanded in Suleja Correctional Centre pending the bail hearing on Friday January 28. Abdullahi then adjourned the matter till February 23, 2021 for trial.
