The sudden death of 55-year-old Islamic cleric, identified as Tunde Olayiwola, who was recently nabbed with a fresh human head has been confirmed by the Ondo State Police Command.
The demise of the suspect who reportedly slumped and died on Saturday, December 25 in police custody was announced on Sunday, December 26.
Public Relations Officer, DSP Olufunmilayo Odunlami, said the suspect was behaving strangely and was rushed to a hospital where he was confirmed dead.
Odunlami denied that he was beaten or tortured to death and also added that newsmen present days earlier as the cleric was paraded can confirm there were no signs of torture on his body.

The PRO added that there was no need to torture him as the truth about his complicity was already made known.
The suspect who had confessed that he bought the fresh human head found in his possession at Ajagbale area of Oka in Ondo town, Ondo State for N60,000 was paraded last Thursday by the Ondo state police command.
In his confessional statement, Olayiwola said that the fresh human head was meant for money rituals which he ordered at the sum of N60,000 in cash.
