The annual Africa Rising International Film Festival (ARIFF) is currently thriving on its digital component known as the ‘ARIFF Digital Hub’ as it moves to comply with the 4th Industrial Revolution ahead of the next edition scheduled to take place from the 26 to the 28 November, 2021, in South Africa.
According to reports, the Digital Hub showcases Web-Series, VR, Interactive, and Short Form content, giving audiences a unique experience to consume content digitally, in the era of the digital age.
It is also the meeting place for new talent and voices at the festival to showcase and pitch their ideas.

Recall that in 2019, the Digital Hub expanded its program to include a new Gaming Zone & Podcast Lab, incorporating the emergence of these two areas of content distribution and culture.
Last year, the festival team organized the masterclass program for up-and-coming filmmakers, with workshops led by industry veterans addressing key components of the filmmaking process, from cinematography to musical scores.
“The program also served up wide-ranging discussions on some of the big-picture questions facing the industry, such as “Women in Film: The conversation beyond shattering the glass ceiling,” which focused on both the challenges and possibilities for women in the male-dominated South African film biz. Another panel, “The inclusion of queer narratives in Black storytelling,” examined how marginalized LGBTQ voices could be better incorporated into local filmmaking. “We also thought that is something that we couldn’t do without,” Lala Tuku, President, Africa Rising International Film Festival (ARIFF) said.
