British lawn tennis player Emma Raducanu has revealed what she will spend her £1.8m US Open fortune on days after she became the first British woman to win a Grand Slam singles title since Virginia Wade in 1977.

The 18-year-old tennis player gave a fabulous response when asked how she would spend her US Open prize money but she insisted that her focus for now is fully on the court.

After winning in New York, she was rewarded with £1.8 million in prize money and when asked how she will use it during an appearance on BBC Breakfast, Raducanu gave a very astute response.

“I will leave that to my parents and my team,” she said.

“My parents showed tough love and at the time I probably wasn’t as grateful as I am in hindsight,” she stated.
